How it works

TripCalc blends short‑range forecasts (the next ~14 days) with 30‑year climate normals (1991–2020) to set expectations.

1. Pick a destination & dates. We geocode the place and fetch a local forecast (temps, rain, wind, UV).
2. Score each day. We reward mild temps, low rain, and manageable wind to suggest the best outdoor days.
3. Show climate normals. If available, we average monthly normals for the same calendar month across 1991–2020.
4. Build a packing list. We add sun/rain/cold/wind items based on risks in your window.

Units appear in °C/°F and km/h/mph for clarity.
